As I look upon this Mother’s Day, I reflect about being a mother and the joys and challenges that brings. I have been blessed with two wonderful sons who are now in their 40’s. Sometimes it’s hard to believe I have boys that age since I don’t feel a day over 30 – in my mind that is – my body is often another story! In spite of how unawakened I was in my earlier years, somehow I was able to…..
I had the great privilege of attending the Sat Nam Fest West that was held in Malibu Canyon in April. I loved the setting of being surrounded by abundant beautiful trees, which was a far cry from the dry, dusty desert of Joshua Tree where the Sat Nam Fest was held previously. I felt like I was being held in the womb of the Mother. My husband Gary was able to join me at the fest this year. It…..
When I was 14-years-old, I had a dream that my maternal grandmother died. When I woke up, I headed to our kitchen and found my mother in tears. She told me her mother died last night. I shared my dream and tried to comfort Mom. One year later, I had another dream that my maternal grandfather was getting married. I told my mother about the dream and she scoffed at it until the next week when she found out her…..
I had an amazing 10-day trip to Kono, Hawaii with 12 of us from different states all convening to share this special time at Banyan Tree Sanctuary. My good friend, Shawn Gallaway, was our trip facilitator and Jan Salerno was our dolphin guide. I enjoyed connecting with the awesome people who attended this Dolphin Tune retreat. Our morning started out with a moving chakra meditation followed by a hearty vegetarian breakfast. We all shared our stories as we got to…..
My sister, Andrea, flew home 3 days ago after a week long visit and I miss her already. We got along so well and there was good energy throughout the entire week. She arrived late Thursday night so we just chilled in the living room until it was time to go to bed. My husband and I had an appointment the next morning so that gave Andrea time to rest and have the house to herself with our 2 cats……
Today I am so much better than I was 2 weeks ago! It’s been a long journey to healing and I’m glad I finally arrived with the help of 4 healing angels – my chiropractor, acupuncturist, massage therapist and cranio-sacral practitioner. My sister, Andrea, was scheduled to visit me for 5 days starting February 16. Two days before her visit, I received a strong message from the universe that we needed to reschedule. I woke up that morning feeling…..
I wasn’t very smart on Tuesday, February 6th. I went to Costco and lifted a 35-pound cat litter container into my cart. I felt okay until the next morning when I bent down to grab a pot for our oatmeal. I felt an immediate pain across my back and knew I was in trouble. Kundalini yoga to the rescue! I got down on the floor and did a posture called Child’s Pose while taking long, slow deep breaths for about 5…..

I created a Facebook page for my book Messages from the Afterlife: Memoirs of a Hospice Nurse with the help of the Balboa Press marketing team. I learned how to blog and post these blogs on my Facebook Profile, Facebook Page and my Twitter account. The holidays were very busy for me and I did not keep up with checking my page for notifications from people who visited. I decided to take the time to individually thank each person who liked…..
I am glad the holidays are over, but I still enjoy them every year. I have a love/hate relationship with them. The part I love is watching my three grandchildren’s excitement about Christmas – complete with it’s twinkling lights, Santa and beautifully wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree. I also had the pleasure of being with two of my grandkids in Dallas at the end of November as they sat on Santa’s lap sharing their Christmas gift list! I love the…..
