I will be going on a West Coast Book Tour in a week with my friend, Sharyn, and I wanted to call an old high school friend who now lives just south of Seattle.
I went to the beach that afternoon with my smoothie in hand, that served as lunch, because I had a massage appointment later that afternoon. When I was settled on my beach towel, I had a strong message to call my friend.
I was pleased she picked up my call since she hadn’t returned my call previously. We chatted about all the latest happenings in our lives. I told her I’ll be doing a book signing event on August 26 at East West Bookstore in Seattle. She was excited to hear the news about my book, but was disappointed that she would be out of town.

We reminisced how I was always spiritual and had a fascination about the Soul, God, Angels and a host of other spiritual topics that she used to tease me about. She told me that she remembered that I frequently talked about my belief in life after death shortly after I received my nursing degree and started working as a Registered Nurse at 34-years old.
It was very uplifting when she told me that it was wonderful that I was able to put my experiences and beliefs into a book that would help others deal with the dying process and better understand the benefits of hospice.
One of my favorite memories with her was going to the gym and having lunch at our special hangout. I used to drink Black Russians and I had one too many at my friend’s encouragement.
I ended up calling in sick at the dialysis center and spending time with love … the dear love of a true friend that I shared delightful times with.
Reconnecting with my special friend just goes to show me that Love Never Dies – even when there are years apart!
